Compassionate Community Charter

Compassionate Community in the Bath and North East Somerset area is a local movement with a mission to encourage and enable individuals, organisations and networks to work together with the shared aim of supporting people in need and building strong local communities.

We are people who live, volunteer or work in BANES that are passionate about creating a more compassionate society that empowers people to look after each other and their communities. We aim to raise the profile of the thousands of professionals and volunteers who already work tirelessly to enrich our area and support those who need it most.

We are a grassroots social movement which recognises there are people and organisations supporting and caring for each other, who are available and can step in as and when needed, with actual or virtual support.

Through sharing the same principles and a common brand we enable people in need to easily access local support and as a result of our work more people will get the help and encouragement they need, and residents, students, businesses, charities and other organisations will be motivated to take action.

Become a Partner in the Compassionate Community

We are building a network of local organisations who share our common ethos,

and who want to use some of their resources to support individuals

and build effective local communities.

The organisations join the network through signing the Compassionate Community Charter.

The Charter establishes a shared commitment by Partners to work together and to make positive changes to support local communities.

Partners include businesses, charities, social services providers, churches, schools

and other local associations and groups.

Together, we will make a difference
